Today we feature incoming transfer students Dante P. (they/them) and Daniel from Gloucester County and Cumberland County, respectively. Both give insights into their majors, why they’re excited to start classes at Rowan, and give advice to future transfer students.

Welcome to Rowan! Could you share with us one thing you are looking forward to at Rowan University?

Dante P.: Getting involved!

Daniel: [The] EMT program; research experience; making new friends; getting good grades.

Daniel gives a thumbs up to the camera.

What is one hobby, activity, sport or club that you’re involved in that you’d like to continue at Rowan?

Dante P.: Volleyball.

Daniel: I like to exercise, so the fitness center is a great activity to do.

Is there anything you’re hoping to discover about yourself at Rowan? Grow a new skill? Try a new interest?

Dante P.: I want to do anything and everything I can on campus.

Daniel: I want to know more about what a student ambassador does.

Please share an interest, hobby or like that you have!

Dante P.: I’m a huge Pokémon fan!

Daniel: I’m kind of into music and sound engineering.

What major are you pursuing and why?

Dante P.: Computer Science. I’ve always been a huge tech person, and coding is a huge passion of mine so it was a no brainer.

Daniel: Biological Science because I want to go into med school.

Do you have advice for other transfers who haven’t committed to a school yet?

Dante P.: Consider your specific program. Just because a school you’re looking at offers your major doesn’t mean it’s actually a good or worthwhile program.

Daniel: Rowan is awesome! I picked Rowan because I’m going into the healthcare field.

Where are you going to live this upcoming year?

Dante P.: On campus

Daniel: Commute from home

What is one thing about Rowan itself that you liked that encouraged you to enroll?

Dante P.: Extracurriculars. I want to be very involved this semester, and the large number of clubs made me very excited.

Daniel: They’re partnered with Cooper Medical School and Rowan is within a good distance from home.

Like what you see?
