Meet incoming transfer student Vivian Jablonski! Vivian is an aspiring Elementary Education major from Camden County, NJ who transferred from Camden County College. She shares more about what she’s looking to discover at Rowan and offers some advice to other transfer students.
Welcome to Rowan! Could you share with us one thing you are looking forward at Rowan University?
I am looking forward to meeting new friends, having in-person classes and furthering my degree.
What is one hobby, activity, sport or club that you’re involved in that you’d like to continue at Rowan?
I was in the Honors Program at Camden County College and am excited to be continuing that at Rowan through their Honors Program.
Is there anything you’re hoping to discover about yourself at Rowan?
I am hoping to discover more about myself as a teacher through my student teaching experiences that Rowan will provide. I hope to become more comfortable and confident in my field.
What majors are you considering and why?
I am an Elementary Education major and will be a middle school science teacher.
Did you tour Rowan or attend any virtual events? If so, which ones, and what did you think?
I attended the Education Virtual session to learn more about the program and I enjoyed the enthusiasm that I felt through the computer. I also attended the Virtual Honors Program Event and I enjoyed seeing how many people are involved.
Do you have advice for other transfers who haven’t committed to a school yet?
I advise to look at all of your options and go with your gut. Choose which part of college will make your happiest and go there. If it is a matter of being the best financial decision, getting the best college experience, or even location — go with your gut.
Where are you going to live next year?
Commute from home.
What is one thing about Rowan itself that you liked?
I like that Rowan is one of the first colleges to have an education program.
