As a commuter to Rowan I need to make sure I wake up early enough to arrive to class on time, whether there is any traffic or not. For me, I wake up at 7:00 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday mornings to make a 9:30 a.m. class. When I wake up I spend the first hour having breakfast and getting showered; I also make sure to give myself an extra half hour for those mornings I might be moving slower than normal. I leave my house in Voorhees Twp. around 8:30 a.m. and arrive at Rowan University in Glassboro between 9:10 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. depending on how dense traffic is that morning.
When I arrive to school I usually park in Parking Lot D on the north-west side of campus, next to the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering buildings. I normally have no trouble finding a parking spot because I have earlier classes than some students, but I do recommend to anyone taking afternoon classes to arrive a half hour prior to the start of the class. This will give you ample time to find a parking space and be able to arrive to the class on time.
The last thing I would recommend for anyone commuting to school is to bring all your required textbooks and notes with you; even if you don’t have that class that day. This way if you have extracurricular activities or spare time throughout your day you’ll be able to complete some work while you’re at school rather than doing it at home. I personally am a part of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and prior to the start of their meetings I have about an hour to finish some homework.
When it comes to attending college it’s all about time management and being properly prepared.
